Education and Early Career
Dr. Don Demas earned his dental degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. He then completed a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Before becoming an orthodontic specialist, Dr. Demas spent four years in private practice specializing in pediatric dentistry.
He furthered his expertise with a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland. Dr. Demas also pursued a one-year fellowship at the University of Kentucky, focusing on the treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and the use of dental appliances for sleep apnea.
Professional Career
Dr. Demas is actively involved in various professional organizations and activities, including:
- Memberships in the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Northeast Society of Orthodontics.
- Participation in the Schulman Study Group, a nationally recognized association of top orthodontic practices.
- Serving as an Invisalign Premier Preferred Provider and attending regular orthodontic meetings and workshops.
He also contributes his expertise as a guest speaker at institutions such as the University of Connecticut Health Center and the University of Maryland.

Dr. Demas has been recognized for his outstanding work with several awards:
- Named one of Connecticut’s Top Orthodontists by Connecticutmag.com multiple times, most recently in 2017.
- Honored as “Best of the Best” for Orthodontist in The Record-Journal‘s 2018 Reader’s Choice Awards.
Outside the Office
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Dr. Demas and his wife, Amy, are avid learners who enjoy traveling and exploring new experiences. They cherish their time with their five grown children, making the most of family adventures and shared moments.
